When we are baptized, we covenant to be a witness of Christ, but sometimes we forget what that means. Sometimes in our lives are examples that remind us what it means to be a witness of Christ in all times, in all places in all things...
Travis Alexander was one of those examples to me. He was a friend from back in the Riverside 1st YA Ward, an amazing individual, and one of my personal heroes. He passed away this month, tragically at the age of 30. His death is kind of like a phoenix rising from the ashes. Though he will sorely be missed, his successes in life will rise to help all who are left behind.
The childhood of Travis was a little tougher than those of most people. Both his parents were drug addicts, who neglected and abused their children. When he was 10 he ran away from home and went to live with his grandma. As a teenager, he became active in the Church and found out who he was. He later served a mission in Denver, and became a lifetime missionary. He was not tell everybody about the gospel. While in the YA ward, he was a really hard worker. At one time he was working 3 jobs and was also deticated to a calling as a Temple Worker. Later, through a friend in the YA ward he joined Pre-paid Legal, the company that he made his career. He worked extremely hard and became successful. Later he moved to Mesa, AZ to lead his team there. He became a motivation speaker and driving force for Pre-paid Legal in AZ.
When he died, he was just finishing up a book that would help others be succesful
